“Following the GZDoom port of Doom 64, BD-64 revitalizes the old Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, gore, new sounds, more weapon animations (shotgun reloads, smoother minigun barrels, etc.) and monsters and stuff cut from the original Nintendo 64 version. Anyhow, this is how Sergeant_Mark_IV has described his Brutal Doom 64 project so far: And the main reason behind that would be the fact that I really enjoyed the demonic soundtrack, atmosphere and the hard difficulty. And personally, I´ve been a fan since the game launched to the N64 (Doom 64 hit the market back in March, 1997). And how freaking awesome isn´t that on a scale 1 to 10? Well, it´s great news for those who like Doom 64 at least. Because I just found out that Sergeant_Mark_IV is working on Brutal Doom 64! Yes, “Doom 64” will undergo a full Brutal Doom total makeover. However, there is more greatness that awaits us. Allows a per user configuration directory and makes sure essential IWAD are available for the game.

We have already been blessed with “ Brutal Doom v20B” and “ Project Brutality” (which kicks tons of ass). The audio is awful, which is unfortunate, but you can take a listen to the remade theme song by Andrew Hulshult, who also did the tunes for the original Brutal Doom mod and is currently working on the old-school shooter Dusk, right here.As I´m a huge fan of the Doom series, I am a very pleased and happy Gamer at the moment. And quite pretty, too, at least as much as you can say such a thing about watching people and monsters being turned into high-velocity stucco. The announcement comes along with a new trailer, and it is, as promised, very brutal indeed. "I also have talked to the owner of the VGP servers cluster, and we will be hosting a survival co-operative multiplayer game of Brutal Doom 64 when it comes out." It will include "all the original 32 levels, enemies removed from the original game (Chaingunguy, Revenant, and Mastermind confirmed so far, Archvile and Hellhound are still planned), as well as an alpha version of the Unmaker shown in the video that can be found in a secret level," the Sarge wrote. The work isn't finished, but the "first version" of the mod has been set for release on October 30.
